This year I will be running the Great North Run 2022 in memory of my very good friend, Adam Bosher, who passed away suddenly of a stroke in November 2020. A man with a heart of gold who would do anything for anybody and who was completely devoted to his family. When I heard the tragic news I was in total shock and still can’t believe it today. It goes without saying that he is a huge miss from our lives with his big smile and big heart. I agreed with Adam’s widow, Elaine, that I would run to raise funds for the Stroke Association in loving memory of the big man. The Stroke Association supports people and families to rebuild their lives after a stroke.
We don’t know how long we have in this life, but I never dreamt of losing my mate Bosher whilst he was still in his 30’s. Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated, as this will go to help many others and their families from the wonderful Stroke Association, charity.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
Adam had a very carefree attitude to life, which we can all live towards, so myself and a group of friends came up with a slogan following his passing to remind ourselves not to get too stressed about the little things.
